What's it about?

Jacob Reynolds finds himself mysteriously swimming in brutal cold Arctic Ocean waters, saving the lives of two children who were drowning. Jacob then slowly recalls how the events of his life in searching for his lost children, who were taken away from him, led him away from St. Louis, Missouri up into the bitter cold regions of Alaska above the Arctic Circle.

Jacob anguished after his children were taken away from him by his ex-wife and her new husband, a rising lawyer in St. Louis named Chris Simmons, who worked for an organized crime family. Chris blackmailed Jacob after discovering the illegal activity Jacob's girlfriend was involved with. Chris moved Jacob's ex-wife Laura and Jacob's three children out of state and used his crime connections to have Jacob, his brother, and his lawyer beaten up after they tried to locate Jacob's kids. Once Jacob realized he had no way to see his children ever again, he prepared for the end of his life, traveling north as far as he can go toward the North Pole, feeling guidance from his deceased parents to make that journey north. This path led him to taking a swim in the Arctic Ocean, where hearing the cries of two drowning children nearby, he saved their lives.

After saving the lives of the two children, Jacob is touched profoundly by the kindness of the Alaskan family whose children he saved. Jacob is deeply attracted to their mother, Sasha, who has demons in her own life after her daughter Becky was brutally murdered by her ex-husband. But Jacob desperately wants to steer clear of any more relationships after Chris Simmons had blackmailed Jacob to sign away custody of his kids to avoid jail time. And Sasha just wants to fulfill her promise to her recently deceased older sister, Sydney, to raise Sydney's daughter, Allison, a niece Sasha loves just as much as she loves her daughter.

Jacob is encouraged by Sasha's Uncle Eli and Aunt Dorothy to spend time with them for a while to help Jacob with his life, allowing Jacob to bond more with Sasha's two kids. Jacob becomes increasingly part of this amazing new family, finding a job in town where they live, Barrow, Alaska. Sasha and Jacob's friendship grows stronger in unexpected ways under God's guidance.

However, demons from Sasha's past come back to haunt Sasha and threaten the lives of Sasha, her kids, and her aunt and uncle. Then Jacob comes to recall all the things his deceased father, who was a tough Marine Drill Sergeant, taught him. Jacob will need to utilize everything he learned from his father to help safeguard this amazing new family, who will then help Jacob take a journey he had once found impossible, to reclaim his own kids from Chris's crime family.
