WORK HISTORY

1998-Present Engineer/Programmer, MCI, St. Louis, MO

- Designed, formatted and implemented a searchable knowledge base for a company technical intranet Web Page. The base conists of more than 1000 technical instruction documents for technicians in MCI domestic and international frame-relay, ATM, and Private IP operations.

- Developed and maintained 60 Perl and UNIX shell scripts used by technicians in support of network maintenance and day-to-day circuit installation and operation. These scripts are used to install, de-install, design, and gain information vital to network operations.

- Developed Perl and UNIX shell scripts used to build and move over 4000 international data circuits from one switch to another, on a variety of network platform, in order to ensure uninterrupted international data-circuit operations.

- Developed and maintained a ticket inventory system using Visual Basic and MS Access. This system was used to track all work done by technical support engineers in fixing network and circuit problems. Made the same system Web-accessible using ASP, CGI, and Perl scripts.

- Developed, upgraded, and maintained a work-outage notification system using ASP scripts and a SQL server database. This system had a Web interface and capabilities to notify customers of vital network upgrades and outages.

- Guided technicians, taking telephone calls and providing practical instruction in the areas of network maintenance, circuit building, and using software applications and scripts to fix circuits.
